ABOUT BRIAN SULLIVAN

Seaman Brian Sullivan is a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was assigned aboard the USS Decatur DDG-31 in November, 1967. In addition to his regular duties, Brian was “Ship’s Photographer”, capturing thousands of images during the two years from 1968 to 1969. Brian and his buddies used free time on ship and shore for sightseeing and entertainment. Brian and his Nikon FTN (buddy’s) took pictures of where they were and what was happening.
Brian carefully preserved the original film and exposed slides for over 48 years. He has spent over two years preparing this website, with countless hours of transferring and scanning the original images to high quality digital format, and sorting the images by date and event. All images are copyrighted and available for sharing.
This website project is a dedicated to preserving and publishing the experiences of his fellow shipmates. The images are presented here as a service and gift to Brian’s fellow veterans, their families, and others interested in this history.
Prints of images are available at a minimal cost to veterans and family members. Please contact Brian Sullivan for details.
